1 Injured In Two-Car Crash On Oak Park Avenue

The accident happened just before 2:30 p.m. Friday, Tinley Park police said.

TINLEY PARK, IL — A Tinley Park man was in serious condition Friday after the car he was driving crossed into the opposite lane of traffic on Oak Park Avenue in Tinley Park Friday afternoon.

The man—whose name and age police have not yet disclosed—was driving northbound on Oak Park Avenue near 180th Street when he crossed into the southbound lane and struck a southbound car. The road was closed for several hours afterward as police investigated.

The driver of the northbound car was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in very serious condition, said Tinley Park Police Deputy Chief Larry Rafferty. The female driver of the southbound car was not injured and was released from the scene.

The accident is still under investigation, Rafferty said.
