22nd Annual Tinley Park Block Party Coming This Sunday
What to know about the upcoming Tinley Park Block Party this week, from food to entertainment.
TINLEY PARK, IL — The annual Downtown Tinley Park Block Party is back for the 22nd year this week. The event will bring the town together with food, entertainment and activities.
The block party has a tropical theme this year, wanting participants to "celebrate like Islanders," on Sunday, from noon to 7 p.m. It will be located on Oak Park Avenue in the Downtown Tinley Park area. This year, residents can try out food from a few local restaurants with many options to taste from. A free shuttle will be available from the 80th Avenue train station.
Vendors will be selling a variety of food and drinks including pizza, Italian sausages, hot dogs, hamburgers, chips and dip, tacos, beef and chicken sandwiches, salads, pulled pork, crab rangoon, barbecue, nachos, brats, tamales, chicken wings and more. Teehan’s Tavern and the Open Bottle will only be selling liquor. Local restaurants residents can expect to see include:

Attendees can also enjoy live music while getting a sample of Tinley Park. The South Stage entertainment will include Final Say (variety) at noon and Troplxplosion (tropical) at 4 p.m. The North Stage entertainment will include Mr. Myers (Caribbean rock) at noon and Cadillac Grove (rockin' R&B) at 4 p.m, according to the village.
The village announcement regarding the event states that other entertainment and activities will include Dance Images, T-N-T Dance, Southwest Synergy Dance, the Aloha Chicago Show, the Aloha Fire Dancers, a bean bag tournament, mini-golf, a giant slide, a zip line, inflatable games, slot car races and a KidZone.

Sign-up for the bean bag tournament begins at 1 p.m. and will last until games start at 2 p.m, according to the village. The village is expecting an attendance of about 15,000 people throughout the day.
