3 Cars Crash After Person Without License Ran Red Light: Police

According to police, a person ran a red light near 171st Street and Harlem Avenue Tuesday evening resulting in some minor injuries.

TINLEY PARK, IL — A crash Tuesday evening involving three cars resulted in multiple injuries after police said a person without a driver's license ran a red light.

According to Tinley Park Police Chief Matt Walsh, a man was driving a car in the area of 171st Street and Harlem Avenue when he ran a red light at a high speed, hitting another car. When the cars crashed, one vehicle spun out and hit another car driving nearby.

Walsh said the drivers had injuries from airbag deployments and were treated on the scene. The driver of the vehicle that ran a red light was cited for not having a valid driver's license and not stopping at a red light.

Video footage of the scene from a nearby store and multiple eyewitnesses caught the crash, police said.
