3 Charged In Christmas Day Armed Robbery At Oak Forest 7-Eleven: PD

The men allegedly conducted similar armed robberies in neighboring communities, police said.

OAK FOREST, IL — Three men have been arrested in connection with the Christmas Day armed robbery of an Oak Forest 7-Eleven, police said Thursday.

On Dec. 25, 2024 at approximately 1 a.m., Oak Forest police responded to a report of an armed robbery at the 7-11 convenience store located at 4901 W. 167th St. On scene, officers learned that three masked offenders, armed with handguns, forced the clerk to the back of the store, stole money and other items, and then fled. Later, police learned that the same offenders conducted similar armed robberies in neighboring communities.

After a thorough investigation by the Oak Forest Police Department’s Investigation Division, Jamal Flex, 25, of Harvey, Lajuan Pouncey, 22, of Riverdale, and Brandon Smith, 24, of Chicago have been charged with Class X armed robbery.

Oak Forest police said the Midlothian, Glenwood and Chicago police departments were essential in the investigation.
