A $250,000 Lottery Ticket Was Sold in Tinley Park

Someone bought a second-place Mega Millions lottery ticket Friday at an Oak Park Avenue convenience store.

A convenience store made someone $250,000 richer last week after selling a second-place Mega Millions lottery ticket.

The ticket matched all five numbers drawn — 2, 3, 27, 30 and 47 — but missed the Mega Ball number in Friday's drawing, according to a news release sent Monday by the Illinois Lottery. The golden ticket was sold at , which will get 1 percent of the prize amount, or $2,500.

Friday's winner came almost exactly two months after the local sale of a $29.5 million winning lotto ticket, which was sold at the in Tinley Park.

Around that same time, an Oswego woman won the Cash for Life instant ticket game and a $1 million Powerball ticket was sold in Homer Glen.
