Armed Robbery at Delta Sonic In Tinley Park: Village

The robber had a black handgun and managed to steal money, before fleeing eastbound 159th street, according to the village.

TINLEY PARK, IL — An armed robbery happened at Delta Sonic, 6800 W. 159th St. on Tuesday morning, according to the Village of Tinley Park.

Tinley Park Police units were dispatched to the area around 6:23 a.m., according to the village.

The village said the suspect is described as a black man with a thin build, wearing a face mask, black hoodie, charcoal gray pants and black and white Nike gym shoes. The robber had a black handgun, according to the village.

The village said the robber stole an undisclosed amount of money. Afterwards, the suspect entered the driver's seat of a small, red SUV— possibly a Honda CRV— and fled eastbound on 159th Street, according to the village.

Tinley Park, Oak Forest and Orland Park Police police searched the area but did not find the offender, according to the village.

The village said the incident is being investigated by the Tinley Park Police Investigations Division. All resources, both public and private, are being utilized during the investigation, the village said.
