Arson Lights up Toilet at Bettenhausen Park

An anonymous tipster called the cops last week to report that smoke and flames were billowing from a local porta-potty.

Police went to Bettenhausen Park Aug. 11 around 3 a.m., when they said they saw flames spouting from a portable outhouse on the property. It's near the intersection of 165th Street and 76th Avenue in .

"When I arrived, I noticed the aforementioned toilet was on fire," the report said.

The officer was able to extinguish the blaze with his fire extinguisher, he said, in the report. were there to make sure the fire was indeed out.
