Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Rory is an excellent student, friend, leader and all around great kid! Rory is active in not only sports but various clubs at Central Middle School in Tinley Park. He was part of the Conference Team in Cross Country in both 6th and 7th grade, he is on the track team and has completed numerous triathlons outside of school. Not only does he work hard as an athlete, but he is a member of the Robotics team, band, and Best Buddies at Central. His true passion lies in model trains. Rory has loved everything about trains since he was little, and he loves sharing his knowledge with others. For the past 2 years Rory has volunteered his time in December and January to set up and display an HO scale model train layout at the Vogt Visual Arts Center for the public to view and enjoy. He loves showing the little kids his trains and even was the president of a train club in elementary school at Fulton when he attended school there. Rory is kind, respectful, compassionate and always up for a chat! He truly is an amazing kid, and I am so proud of all that he does.
