Back To School: Tinley Park 2021-22 School Calendar

TINLEY PARK, IL — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Tinley Park, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in Kirby School District 140, Community Consolidated School District 146, Consolidated High School District 230 and Bremen High School District 228.

The first day of school for students in D140 is Aug. 24, D146 is Aug. 26. For Victor J. Andrew High School students in D230, and Tinley Park High School students in D228, freshman students will begin on Aug. 13, and the entire student body will be welcomed back on Aug. 16.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point. A mix of in-person, virtual and hybrid learning is still possible in Tinley Park schools.

Masking policies are still being discussed in Tinley school districts. The Illinois Federation of Teachers and Cook County Department of Public Health announced Wednesday its endorsement of guidelines from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Illinois Department of Public Health calling for universal masking in schools, regardless of vaccination status.
