Beers, Burgers And A New Vintage Feel At Tinley's Flipside Bazaar

TINLEY PARK, IL Beers, burgers, and a bazaar return to Tinley Park's Flipside Brewing, this time with a nostalgic twist.

Set for Sunday, Sept. 22, the Flipside Vintage Bazaar will be held at Flipside Brewing, 7144 183rd St., and is curated by John E. Streetz of the Streetz Artz Alliance.

Known for its smash burgers, diverse craft beer selection, and cocktails, Flipside Brewing will host the event from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The family-friendly event is free to attend and open to all ages.

"Not every artist in this event offers vintage items, but this time there will be more vintage sellers than usual," Streetz said. "We’ll still feature alliance favorites like pickles, giant cookies, spices, and original art.

"I’m especially excited to include The Curious Aesthetic and Memento Moira in this lineup; both bring unique and amazing vintage pieces."

The Streetz Artz Alliance is a group of 350 artists and crafters from across the Chicago suburbs, NW Indiana, and southern Wisconsin who participate in markets at breweries all over the area. The group is dedicated to promoting local artists and fostering community engagement through art-centric events.

Participating artist Robin Monique Rios will showcase painted vinyl records and CDs featuring original themes.

"I’m excited to be part of this year's vintage market," said Rios. "I’ve been painting on old records for years, and I’ve also created art on blank record covers to form complete sets."

The Curious Aesthetic, one of the featured vintage vendors, will offer an eclectic mix of vintage clothing and décor.

"I specialize in vintage goods from the Mid-Century Modern, Regency Revival, and Glam Rock eras," said Cassandra Silva, owner of The Curious Aesthetic. "Each piece is hand-selected for its craftsmanship and uniqueness. My work reflects my passion for blending iconic elements from various decades and creating new jewelry from vintage-inspired materials."

Another featured vendor, Memento Moira, takes pride in offering an array of eclectic items.

"I'm an odd Midwesterner, obsessed with funeralia, abandoned objects, old books, and oddities," they explained. Memento Moira will present a selection of dresses, bowling shirts, recycled 2D and 3D art, jewelry, accessories, altered candles, and more.

Jakub Advanced Manufacturing Inc. will feature a collection of antique glowing glassware, vases, and plates. Typically known for their 3D-printed, articulated dragons and creatures, these too will be part of their setup at the market.

Flipside Brewing's featured burger of the month is the Gyro Burger, a delicious combination of two patties, gyro meat, American cheese, tzatziki sauce, lettuce, and tomato. This burger pairs perfectly with craft beer and a day of vintage shopping, Streetz said.
