Blotter: Man Short-Changes Cashier at McD's, Mom Suspects that Son Pawned Pendant

Man Short Changes Cashier at McDonald's 

A McDonald's employee called the cops after she realized she'd been had by a man who repeatedly asked for change after buying a $1 fry.

After the suspect, a 40- to 50-year-old man, bought his fry around 3:45 p.m., he began to ask the cashier for change. After fulfilling several of the man's change requests, he left the store at 17171 Harlem Ave. in Tinley Park with his purchase.

That's when the cashier noticed that her drawer was short $60. The manager pulled the in-store surveillance footage, which captured the transaction.

Obstructing Identification

Daniel K. McCloud, 44, of the 5200 block of Liberty Square Drive in Oak Forest, was arrested around 3:10 p.m. in the 6800 block of West 173rd Place in . He was charged with obstructing identification, speeding and driving with a revoked license.

Mom Suspects that Son Pawned Pendant

A woman went to the to report that sometime between noon Dec. 11 and noon Dec. 28, someone stole a 14-carat gold flower basket pendant from her home. The pendant had eight gem stones representing her eight grandchildren's birth mothers, the report said. She suspects her son, who lives with her and has a history of heroin addiction, to be the culprit. When confronted, the man said he needed eight hours to find the pendent. The mother said she believed her son pawned the pendant. She said she will sign complaints in the case. No arrests had been made as of Tuesday.
