Two Hit-and-Run Accidents
Police arrested Tajsha N. Pearson, who they said two witnesses identified as being responsible for two separate accidents —one involving another car and one involving a mailbox, according to the report.
Pearson was pulled over around 10 a.m. near the intersection of 159th Street and 80th Avenue in Tinley Park. She told police she didn't realize she'd hit the first vehicle —a blue Dodge pick-up truck—until her passenger told her so. She then "panicked and left the area and was heading home when she got lost on an unknown street," the report said.
She struck a mailbox when she made a U-turn and slid in the roadway, police said. She said she didn't realize she'd hit the mailbox, according to the report.
Pearson, of the 1000 block of Barrow Court in University Park, was charged with two counts of leaving the scene of an accident. Her bail was set at $1,500.
