Bullet Found At Andrew High School Prompts Soft Lockdown: Principal

A student found the bullet Monday morning and the school was put on soft lockdown. A gun was not found.

TINLEY PARK, IL — Tinley Park police were questioning a student after a bullet was found in a hallway at Victor J. Andrew High School campus Monday morning, the school's principal said.

A student found the bullet just before 9 a.m., in the Alternative Education hallway. The student brought it to a teacher, officials said, and a soft lockdown was put in place. Video linked the bullet to one specific student, said Principal Dr. Abir Othman.

"Through video, staff were able to determine when the bullet was dropped and by whom," Othman said. "No weapons were found, and the police took the student into custody for questioning."
