Catalytic Converter Plucked From School Bus

Staff at Tutor Time, 8007 183rd St., , said that sometime between Dec. 23 and Jan. 9, someone stole the catalytic converter to one of the school's buses. The case remained under investigation Wednesday.

Man Socks Girlfriend in the Head

A local man was charged with domestic battery causing bodily harm after he reportedly punched his girlfriend in the head during an argument on 163rd Place in Tinley Park. Police said there was an abrasion on her skin and a small bump near her temple. The argument occurred around 7 p.m.

Woman's Purse Swelled With Each Trip to Kohl's Dressing Room

arrested a 18-year-old woman Monday who they said shoplifted from Kohl's.

Natassia Mae Temelo Medez, of the 21200 block of South Plank Trail in Frankfort, was charged around 2:40 p.m. with retail theft. Police said they caught her leaving Kohl's, 7500 W. 191st St. in Tinley Park, with $221.51 worth of sunglasses, shirts and belts.

"(Security) stated that Medez went into the fitting room three times with several items each time," the report said. "Each time it appeared that Medez was coming out of the fitting room with less items than she went in with, and that her purse appeared larger."

Police found tags to the stolen clothes in the pockets of pants she had taken into the dressing room, according to the report. She was confronted by security after she allegedly walked out of the store with the items.

Her bail was set at $1,500.

Possession of a Controlled Substance

Michael P. Zielinski, 33, of the 7500 block of West 161st Street in Tinley Park, was arrested around 6:30 p.m. and charged with theft of more than $500 and possession of a controlled substance.
