$380K Goal Set For Crisis Center's Annual Fundraising Gala
Crisis Center for South Suburbia's gala is set for Feb. 24. The center works to support victims and survivors of domestic violence.
TINLEY PARK, IL — An upcoming gala for a south suburban nonprofit centered around providing support and resources for victims of domestic violence hopes to raise $380,000 for the cause.
To be held Feb. 24 at Odyssey Country Club, the gala is the Crisis Center for South Suburbia's largest fundraising event and is set for a month after the quadruple homicide of a Tinley Park woman and her three daughters, allegedly by the woman's husband and girls' father.
"The recent tragedy of the four victims in a homicide relating to domestic violence in
Tinley Park shows that domestic violence can happen anywhere at any time and to anyone," the Crisis Center said in a release.

One hundred percent of the proceeds will support the emergency shelter, housing, counseling advocacy, education programs, and a 24-hour hotline.

Crisis Center For South Suburbia Executive Director Pamela Kostecki expressed the
importance of the gala in supporting their mission.
"Our annual gala is a crucial event for us to raise awareness about domestic violence and generate funds to continue providing essential services to those in need," Kostecki said. "By attending this event, you are directly contributing to the well-being and safety of victims of domestic violence."
The Spain-themed gala will include inspirations from the country, allowing guests to enjoy regionally inspired food and drinks with accompanying Spanish music to enhance the experience. The night will conclude with entertainment from a Flamenco dancer and a DJ for guests to dance the night away.
