D210: Driver Education Meeting for Parents

The Lincoln-Way school district will outline the new permit process and licensing laws in the state.

Lincoln-Way District 210 Driver Education Program is hosting an information meeting for parents about the new permit process and licensing laws for teens in Illinois.

This informative meeting is being held at 6 p.m. at each of the four high schools on:

  • Monday, Feb. 25, in the Lincoln-Way Central Auditorium
  • Tuesday, Feb. 26, in the Lincoln-Way East Auditorium
  • Wednesday, Feb. 27, in the Lincoln-Way West Auditorium
  • Wednesday, March 6, in the Lincoln-Way North Auditorium

Parents are welcome to attend at the location that best fits their schedule; the information presented will be the same at all four high schools.

The classroom curriculum will begin in March of a student's freshman year and continue, until completed, before the beginning of the junior year. Freshman students will participate in the new permit application phase of the curriculum during a portion of their Physical Education, Health or ROTC classes in March. Upon successful completion of this portion of the curriculum, and on or after their 15th birthday, students will be eligible to take their completed application to the Department of Motor Vehicles to apply for a driving permit.
