Dist. 228's Screening Of 'Angst' Aims To Help Teens With Anxiety
Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps, who has been open about his battle with depression and anxiety, is a centerpiece of the documentary.

OAK FOREST, IL — District 228 hosts a free screening of the independent documentary Angst that has been wending its way through the region's school districts in its attempt to draw awareness to the debilitating effects of anxiety.
Anxiety is one of the most common mental health challenges in the United States, with 54 percent of women and 46 percent of men reporting they have symptoms of it, World Health Organization data shows. Although it's treatable, only about one-third of those diagnosed with anxiety receive any kind of treatment. The movie's producers hope that will change.
Angst depicts everyday and famous people with their stories about suffering from anxiety. Employees involved with the production of the film also said they have or have had anxiety. Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps, who has been open about his battle with depression and anxiety, is a centerpiece of the documentary.
