Downtown Tinley Block Party Set For Sunday
It'll be a hot one, but the party will sizzle no matter what at the Downtown Tinley Block Party Sunday.

TINLEY PARK, IL — The annual Downtown Tinley Block Party is on this summer from noon to 7 p.m. Sun., July 21 along Oak Park Avenue in Downtown Tinley.
Visitors can park for free at the 80th Avenue train station and take a complimentary, air-conditioned shuttle from the north Kiss-N-Ride to the Block Party. The first pick-up is at 11:30 a.m., and the last pick-up back to the train station will be at 7:30 p.m. at 171st Street and Oak Park Avenue. One of the two shuttles will be handicapped-accessible.
For those driving there, parking will be available on the grass lot off 67th Court and 172nd Street, just east of Oak Park Avenue. Additional parking will be available at the south Oak Park Avenue Metra lots, along Hickory Street and in part of the north Metra lot. Some side-street parking will be available on the non-hydrant side of the street. Handicapped parking will be available at the 80th Avenue station, as well as in the north and southwest lots at the Oak Park Avenue station.

The day's events will include two KidZone areas featuring nine holes of mini golf, a giant slide, music by Electric Blue DJ Entertainment, airbrush tattoos, crafts, the Aloha Chicago Show (with hula lessons) at 3 p.m., bumper cars, the Tree Frog Hopper ride, the Ultimate Wave photo opportunity, the Tropical Adventure inflatable and a Zipline.
Other activities include a Bean Bag Tournament at 2 p.m. in the Matt’s TV parking lot and live music on two stages featuring the Walk-Ins, Johnny Russler and the Beach Bum Band, South of Disorder, ARRA, the Potts and Pans Duo, Matt Kerr, Kent Arnsbarger and steel drummers at each stage.

Food and beverage vendors will include J.W. Hollstein’s, Ed and Joe’s Pizza, Village Pizza, 350 Brewing Company, Parmesans Station, the Open Bottle, V.F.W. Post 2791, Pad Thai Cuisine and Durbins. Menu items will include classics such as pizza, burgers, pop and beer, as well as unique items like grilled Thai-style beef and shrimp, chicken kabobs, veggie tempura, brisket tacos, Caribbean jerk chicken, fresh fruit skewers, bratburgers, funnel fries and more.
