Family of Thieves Ransacks Tinley Home
Police are investigating a Christopher Court home burglary.

A neighbor caught what appeared to be a family of thieves leaving a next-door home Tuesday with a black garbage bag and baseball bat in their hands.
said a woman in the 16900 block of South Christopher Court in was watching her neighbor's home while the residents were driving to Wisconsin Tuesday morning. Around 9:10 a.m., the neighbor heard a car door close in the home's driveway, according to the police report.
"(The neighbor) went to her front porch and watched as four (people) … ran in and out of the rear patio door carrying a partially full, black or green garbage bag and a baseball bat," the report said.

She described the group as an adult man, a pregnant woman, a boy who appeared to be around 11 years old and a teenaged girl. When the woman asked them what they were doing, they got into a grey sport utility vehicle and left on Debra Avenue toward Gaynell Road, according to the police report.
Officers said the back patio door of the home looked like it had been pried open. Various drawers throughout the house were ajar and a TV was missing from the television stand.

A victim who lives in the home told the cops that when she left her home around 9 a.m., she saw a grey and tan SUV parked and facing north on the corner of Gaynelle Road and Debra Avenue.
"She said he had a clear view of her residence and driveway and could have easily seen her packing and leaving … " the report said.
A preliminary inventory of the stolen items included a television and three laptop computers, police said. The case remained under investigation Thursday.
