Gaming Revenue Up 15 Percent In Tinley Park

Revenue from video gaming in Tinley is up 15 percent because more terminals are being offered, a new finance committee report shows.

TINLEY PARK, IL — The money video gaming brings to Tinley Park is at an all-time high, a new report for Tuesday night's finance committee meeting shows.

Revenue is up 15 percent over last year because more businesses offer gaming in Tinley, the report shows. Total revenues through May of this year ring in at more than $88,570. That's the latest available data — there is a two-month delay in reporting and distribution from the state.

According to the report, 32 businesses in the village hold state gaming licenses and offer 150 terminals. That's up from 147 machines in 2018. Tinley's first terminals were installed in March 2014.

That number could change. Three restaurants were approved for state licenses and have not used them. Another three applications are pending with the state:

Committee meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. the second and forth Tuesdays of the month at Tinley's village hall.
