Graffiti Artist Paints 'Mona Lisa' on Service Box

The black-paint reproduction of one of Lenardo da Vinci's most famous works has been removed from its makeshift canvas near McDonald's on Harlem Avenue.

It’s not exactly the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, but one criminal artist turned a service box into a canvas.

An image of Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa was painted onto a utility service box near McDonald’s, 17171 S. Harlem Ave., according to a report. Police said stenciling and black paint were used. The defacement was located on the south-facing side of the box and has since been removed.
