Grissom Middle School Girls' Cross-Country Team Wins SWIC Conference

Patriots Race to Success at Conference Meet

Congratulations to Grissom’s girls’ cross-country team for winning back-to-back SWIC Conference Championships! The Patriots dominated the race, with Magda Govea, Kate Kloptowsky, and Lanie Swaw all finishing in the top ten. Coached by Katie Ryan and Diane Raslavicz, the championship team included Brooklyn Donlan, Magda Govea, Angel Johnson, Kate Kloptowsky, Sydney Schaub, Olivia Sherry, and Lanie Swaw.

The Grissom boys’ team also had a strong showing, finishing fourth overall, with Hudson Roby placing in the top ten.

In the open races, the Patriots continued their success. The girls' team placed second, with Isabel Boyle, Maeve Hession, and Lily Nelson placing in the top ten. The boys placed fourth, with Jacob Vieu placing in the top ten.

“This season was all about teamwork, perseverance, and growth,” said Coach Ryan.

“Winning the girls’ conference championship and seeing so many athletes place in the top ten is a reflection of their dedication and hard work,” added Coach Raslavicz. “We couldn’t be prouder of how both teams represented Grissom.”
