A 48-year-old man has been charged after firing a "celebratory" gunshot during a gender reveal party Sunday in Tinley Park.

TINLEY PARK, IL — A 48-year-old man faces a gun charge after firing a gun while at a gender reveal party Sunday, police said Tuesday.

Mohammed Ahmed, of Chicago, was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm, Tinley Park Police Chief Tom Tilton said.

The incident happened at Volunteer Park, 8065 175th St., police said. Ahmed is alleged to have fired a "celebratory" shot during the party. No injuries were reported, police said, and there was no threat to the area.

Ahmed was taken into custody that evening.
