Tinley Man Charged After Shooting At Wife Outside Grocery Store: PD

Charges have been filed against a 51-year-old Tinley Park man following a shots fired incident outside a Tinley Park Jewel store Saturday.

TINLEY PARK, IL — A 51-year-old Tinley Park man faces several charges after police said he shot at his wife outside a grocery store in Tinley Park Saturday morning.

Michael Picardi was charged Sunday with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and aggravated unlawful restraint. Police said Saturday that Picardi fired shots at his estranged wife after a domestic dispute between the two outside the Jewel-Osco, 17117 S. Harlem Ave., Saturday around 10 a.m.

Police were called to the store for a report of shots fired. Officers recovered a shell casing from the scene, but found Picardi had fled with his wife prior to their arrival, police said.

After a search, police said they found Picardi hiding behind garbage cans at his home in the 6000 block of Lake Bluff Drive in Tinley Park. No one was injured in the incident, police said.

Picardi is due in bond court at Bridgeview Courthouse on Monday morning.
