The Home And Garden Show Is Headed To Tinley Park
The Home and Garden Show's president, Scott Hardesty, gave us a sneak peek of what to expect at its premiere Tinley Park exhibition March 3.

Starting Saturday, March 3, The Tinley Park Home and Garden Show will make its debut at the Tinley Park Convention Center. With tons of design and remodeling exhibitions, cooking demonstrations and even a Tesla on display (yes, you can sit in the driver's seat), this is an event you certainly won't want to miss — especially since admission is free.
The show's president, Scott Hardesty, takes pride in his family-owned and operated business, which produces some of the best home improvement events around. He anticipates huge success and record-breaking attendance at his first Tinley Park show, partly because of its prime location. "Simply put, it is the place to host an event in the Chicago Southland area," says Hardesty.

Patch: Tell us about the Tinley Park Home and Garden Show beginnings. What was the initial inspiration behind its founding?
Hardesty: We have been producing home improvement shows for over 15 years in the Chicagoland area, but it was clear to us that there was a substantial need for a quality event such as this to specifically serve the homeowners of the South and Southwest suburbs. Connecting with the amazing people at the Tinley Park Convention Center made for a perfect fit for this event and we anticipate great success right from its very first show.

Patch: What is the goal of the show? What do you hope to accomplish?
Hardesty: Our goal is to ensure that every one of the thousands of homeowners who attends this show finds who and what they are seeking in order to improve their homes. The feedback from our other events has been amazingly positive to say the least, so we are excited to be able to bring this same quality of an event with diverse offerings to these South suburban communities as well. As far as what we’d like to accomplish, I’d say it’s to make everyone happy and build a tradition. We are hoping for a record breaking attendance for our premier event at the Tinley Park Convention Center and hope homeowners in the surrounding areas choose this event for their home improvement needs for years to come. When both the homeowners who attend, as well as the businesses who participate are happy with the experience, I’d say we’ve accomplished everything that we’ve set out to do.
Patch: The Tinley Park Home and Garden show premiers at the Tinley Park Convention Center on the weekend of March 3rd. How did you come to select this particular location as the show’s setting?
Hardesty: The Tinley Park Convention Center is truly an icon in the community, so homeowners, not only from the Tinley Park area, but for many miles around, are familiar with the location. It is an absolutely beautiful facility and the staff has been amazing to work with, so it has been the ideal setting for hosting our event. Simply put, it is the place to host an event in the Chicago Southland area.
Patch: This year’s event promises to be the largest of its kind in the area. What will set it apart from other shows in the area?
Hardesty: For several years in a row, our events have grown in both number of exhibitors as well as the number of homeowners who attend to use it as their tool to find the best company to fill their home improvement, remodeling and repair needs. Our premier event this year will play host to close to 130 businesses, highlighting thousands of the latest home-related products and services to ensure that every homeowner who attends will find what they are looking for. We understand that everyone’s time is valuable and in turn, we value every single one of the thousands of homeowners who attend our events each year, so we are pleased to provide the most complete event of its kind to ever serve this area.
Patch: What are some of the main attractions at the Tinley Park Home and Garden Show?
Hardesty: Besides our huge array of home improvement related companies, this year’s event will play host to a variety of fun and interesting attractions, such as hourly presentations on topics such as “Trends in Kitchen & Bath Design,” cooking demonstrations by Royal Prestige and Kitchen Craft, as well as a unique variety of quality indoor and outdoor furniture by Das Holz Haus and By the Yard, along with adjustable beds by 217 Mattress.
And attendees won’t want to miss the Kapital Electric display where they can hop in a Tesla in their booth, along with quality vehicles by Bettenhausen Automotive, just to name a few of the interesting attractions that will be on display. The largest feature will be over 10,000 square feet of hot tubs and Michael Phelps Swim Spas on display and available to purchase at massive, show special savings!

Patch: How does the Tinley Park Home and Garden Show distinguish itself from other home shows?
Hardesty: There is truly no other event quite like this one in the entire Chicagoland market. Not only do we provide an event with a large selection of some of the finest home remodeling and service businesses, but hosting it at the Tinley Park Convention Center takes it to a whole new level.
In addition, we provide free admission and free parking to guests to make visiting this event as easy as can be, especially when they visit in groups with family, friends and neighbors. At nearly 50,000 square feet, this is definitely a very large, high-quality home improvement event supported by quality businesses, but we’re simply not interested in “nickel and diming” our visitors who are already interested in investing in their homes. We invite all to join us, freely. Another unique aspect of this event is that some of the businesses represented here do not participate in any other Chicago area events, so it’s an ideal venue to meet and speak directly with these experts who focus their efforts on helping homeowners in the local communities.
Patch: Tell us about your proudest Home and Garden Show moments.
Hardesty: One of our proudest Home and Garden Show moments would definitely be when we announced we had taken over production of the Spring Tinley Park Home Show and our intentions to bring the event to a level far beyond any that have ever taken place in the area. We pride ourselves on producing the finest home improvement shows possible for our exhibitors and attendees. The support we have received from the business community has been fantastic to say the least and we are truly excited about this premier event.
Patch: Tell us about some of the members of the Home and Garden Show team.
Hardesty: The Home and Garden team is a family-owned and operated business comprised of my wife, Sandy, and I, family members and friends who not only help us operate the day-to-day, but also assist at the events. We are definitely a close-knit team, all dedicated to the same goal of delivering quality events that we can be proud of, each and every time.
Patch: What is your outlook on the future of the Tinley Park Home and Garden Show? What’s next?
Hardesty: Each year we strive to improve the quality and diversity of the event, not only by growing our exhibitor base to offer attendees a larger selection of products and services, as well as experts to discuss their home improvement projects with, but to also increase the variety of exhibits for a more unique and interesting experience for all who attend. In a nutshell, we will continue to deliver bigger, better and more exciting events to the surrounding communities each and every year.
