Jewel Thief Was Likely Among Party Guests at a Como Court Home, Police Say

Tinley Park police are investigating a local burglary.

were trying to get to the bottom this week of identifying which guest at a soiree in a Como Court home stole more than $6,500 worth of jewelry and other accessories while the resident was in Florida for the weekend.

When the woman returned from her trip, she said the house was in shambles, leading her to believe her son threw a party in her absence, according to the report. She was gone from Sept. 9 to Sept. 12.

Her son admitted to having five friends over around 4 p.m. Sept. 9. Their names were included in the report but none were listed Thursday as having any charges. The son said he didn't know anything about the stolen jewels, the report said.

A radio, Coach purse and a stash of casino-quality dominoes were reported missing. The suspects include three 18-year-old men, one 19-year-old Tinley Park man and a 19-year-old man, according to the report.

The case remained under investigation Thursday.
