Krema Coffee Roasters Eyes Move Into Cavallini's Space
Officials will vote Tuesday on approving a five-year license agreement for the Plainfield-based coffee business.

TINLEY PARK, IL — The space in the Oak Park Avenue Metra station previously occupied by Cavallini's could have a new tenant as soon mid-October.
A coffee business with other suburban locations is seeking to take over the space, with officials expected to consider the owner's business proposal at the Sept. 19 Village Board meeting. Plainfield-based Krema Coffee Roasters is pursuing the space, 6700 South St.
Owner Kacie Wadycki's "experiences of designing and opening four business have equipped her perfectly to bring Krema Coffee Roasters to the Oak Park Avenue train station," officials said in Village documents.

Described as "a small coffee shop that serves breakfast and lunch with a focus on supporting other local businesses,"Krema Coffee Roasters plans to provide coffee, teas, and lemonades. They will host public and private events throughout the year.
Krema first opened in Plainfield community in 2017, according to Village documents. Wadycki then expanded, opening Wine & Cheese Co. in 2019, in addition to a Lockport location of Krema and coffee and wine bar Oak + Bean in Oswego, in 2022.

Wadycki's proposal followed a formal application period during which the Village encouraged interested businesses to submit a business plan through the Request for Qualifications process. The Village did not receive formal inquiries from interested businesses during the submission period, and the RFQ remained on the Village’s website, officials said. Existing local business owners were sought and presented with the opportunity. Wadycki was the sole business owner to submit a proposal, officials said.
The Tinley Park location would replace Cavallini's in the Park, which closed Sept. 15 after 20 years in the space.
Terms of the license agreement for Krema will include a $700 fee to be paid monthly, and 2 to 2.5-percent of gross annual sales to be paid to the Village monthly. The Village will waive that requirement for the first five months, according to the agreement. Wadycki will also pay a rental fee of $275.12 monthly.
The agreement locks in Krema for a five-year term, beginning Oct. 15.
