TINLEY PARK, IL — The owners of Tinley Park's longstanding pizza place Little Joe's have sold the location, marking the end of the family's more than half a century in business.

"Effective immediately: Little Joe's Tinley has been sold," the owners shared on social media. "We wanted to say we are so grateful for the outpouring of love and support through the years and a sincere thank you from all of us."

The owners shared the news about the restaurant at 7976 167th St. Wednesday afternoon. Started in 1958, the pizza place and Italian restaurant has its roots on 63rd Street in Chicago. It remained family owned and operated throughout more than six decades in business. The family sold the Chicago location, then opening in Tinley Park in 1991. Locations in New Lenox and Frankfort also followed.

The Little Joe's legacy will carry on at the location, the family said. There was no word of its ultimate closing.

"We are excited for the new owners as they embark on their new journey, continuing Little Joe's legacy! We wish them much success and remember, you are always family at Little Joe's! Until we meet again, CIAO!"

The note was signed by Abe, Sue, Gerardo, Vincenzo and Victoria Vazquez.

The sale comes less than a year after the New Lenox location was sold in April 2023, after 23 years in that spot. The New Lenox space is soon to become a Hog Wild.
