Local Man Dies After Expressway Rollover Crash

A Tinley Park man was killed Sunday night in an accident on the Dan Ryan.

A man was killed Sunday night after he was thrown from his car during a one-car accident on the Dan Ryan Expressway, officials said Monday morning.

Paul Newman, 42, of the 17100 block of South Oak Park Avenue, got into a 7:30 p.m. crash in which his sport utility vehicle rolled over in the right, outbound lane of the expressway, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead.

According to the Illinois State Police, the crash occurred near the 95th Street exit. The reason he lost control was unclear Monday morning. Officials were awaiting autopsy results, they said.
