Lincoln-Way High School District 210 Foundation for Educational Excellence announces the winners of the First Early Bird Drawing. They are Eleanor and Anthony Kestel of Manhattan, John Fitzpatrick of Tinley Park and Richard Koefoed of Joliet.

Eleanor and Anthony Kestel were excited to learn that they won $1,500 in the first Early Bird Drawing. They purchased tickets to support the high schools attended not only by their grandchildren, but also their children. Eleanor Kestel stated, “We are very happy with the high schools. Our children graduated from Lincoln-Way Central, and our grandchildren attend the same school. We just wanted to support the schools. We never imagined we would win anything!”

The Kestels purchased tickets last year for the first time. When they saw the article in the newspaper about purchasing tickets at Frankfort's Alsip Nursery, they stopped there to purchase their ticket in time to be eligible for all Early Bird drawings.

Richard Koefoed, on the other hand, has been purchasing raffle tickets from the Lincoln-Way Foundation for years. Koefoed is a 1977 graduate of Lincoln-Way, and this is one way he can support his high school. Koefoed said, “I’m very fortunate to have had a great Lincoln-Way education. I buy the raffle tickets as a way to show my gratitude…and a way to make a difference for today’s Lincoln-Way students.”
