Tinley Park police are warning residents of reports of a man who tried to lure a young girl into his car by offering her money Wednesday.
TINLEY PARK, IL — Tinley Park police are warning residents of reports of a man who tried to lure a young girl into his car by offering her money Wednesday evening.
Police that a young female was walking by herself near the 16700 block of Harlem when a man tried to get her to talk to him by asking for directions to a local business.
This frightened the girl, who then walked into the parking lot of a nearby business. The man followed her into the parking lot.

He then offered her money to get into his car.
Police said the girl went into the business and told employees what had happened. The man immediately fled the scene.

Police describe the man as white or hispanic, 30 to 40 years old and "chubby." He was driving a red minivan.
A investigation is underway. Police said they urge parents to talk to their children about "Stranger Danger" tonight.
