Mom Hands Over Son's Pellet Gun

A woman gave a pellet gun to police around 5:40 p.m. because she said she "does not wish to have it in her house." She told the cops that she'd asked her 17-year-old son to remove the gun and he refused. It was a Remington AirMaster .177-caliber pellet gun, according to the report.

SATURDAY, NOV. 5

Funny Money

A 18-year-old man said that he sold his cell phone to a peer and received $60 in counterfeit cash in return. The victim didn't sign complaints against the buyer but did turn the three bills in to the , where they will be picked up by a member of the U.S. Secret Service. The victim reported the transaction around 10:30 p.m.

Warrant Arrest

Christopher A. Jones, 35, of the 11300 block of Front Street in Mokena, was arrested around 7:30 p.m. on a failure-to-appear warrant out of Will County. He was also charged with driving on a suspended license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. His bail was set at $4,000, according to the report.

FRIDAY, NOV. 4

Oak Forest Woman Turns Herself in

Joan M. Phillips, 47, of the 14600 block of Scarborough Court in Oak Forest, turned herself in on a failure-to-appear warrant for forgery out of DeKalb County. She did so at the , 7850 W. 183rd St., , around 1:55 p.m. Her bail was set at $5,000.

THURSDAY, NOV. 3

Neighbor Sees Trucks At Time of Ash Street Home Burglary

A neighbor told police she noticed a couple of trucks outside a home on Ash Street in around the time it was burglarized.

The woman said that on Nov. 1, she saw a truck parked outside that had windows in it. Several of the windows were propped up against a tree outside the home, which is in the 17700 block of Ash Street. The homeowners said they didn't have any windows replaced, but called police Nov. 3 to report a 27-inch television and a 1/2-carat engagement ring missing from their home.

Police investigated the scene and found marks on the front door that they believed were from a pry bar, the report said. They collected fingerprints and other evidence from the home. The case remained under investigation Monday.

Warrant Arrest

Daniel H. Richardson, 29, of the 5500 block of Adeline Place in Oak Forest, was arrested around 1:40 p.m. on a warrant out of the .

Identity Theft

A woman went to the to make a late report about an identity theft that she said she believed occurred between July 19 and Sept. 24. She told police that on Nov. 1, she got a call from a collection agency saying she owed $481.49 for an overdue Comcast cable bill, according to the report. The woman said she does not have Comcast. She traced the account to a Chicago Heights address. The case remained under investigation Monday.
