Oak Forest Memorial Day 2019: Neighbor Shares Pictures
Despite the threat of rain, scores of people turned out for Oak Forest's Memorial Day service. A longtime resident shares his photos.
OAK FOREST, IL — Scores of people turned out to Oak Forest's Memorial Day service despite the threat of thunderstorms Monday. One longtime resident, Ralph Chichester, was on hand to capture the event on film.
Chichester, who moved to Oak Forest in 1981, is a veteran, a photographer and a member of Oak Forest's veterans commission.
Here, he captures veterans Don Snedden of Oak Forest VFW Post 4241 and member of Oak Forest Veterans Commission, who also presided over the event, Joe Pilch, and Jim Watson, who presented the wreath. You'll also see the Honor Guard with its 21-gun salute, and Oak Forest Mayor Hank Kuspa.
