Orland Park Cops Hunting Down Newport-Loving Gas Station Bandit
The stickup man stole cash and all the Newports from a Mobil station.
A Newport-stealing stickup man remains at large after robbing a Mobil station in Orland Park.
The man robbed the gas station on 183rd Place and Martie Road shortly after 11 p.m. on Aug. 22.
He parked near the pumps, walked into the store and asked the clerk how much a carton of Newports cost. While the clerk was looking up the price, the crook pulled a black handgun from his waistband and demanded all the Newports, as well as the money.

The man made off with about a dozen cartons and a small amount of cash from the register. He made his getaway in a newer model silver, four door Chevy Impala. Another man was behind the wheel of the Impala.
Police ask anyone with information on the men to call detectives at 708-349-4111.

The man who entered the store was about 6-foot to 6-foot-3 and about 200 to 230 pounds. He had short black hair, brown eyes, a thin mustache and chin whiskers, and appeared to be about 27.
