Threat Against Andrew HS Deemed Not Credible: PD
The incident happened Thursday morning. Police are interviewing subjects linked to the message.
TINLEY PARK, IL — An Andrew High School parent on Thursday alerted administrators to a threat targeting the school, which police later deemed to be not credible, officials said.
Officers and investigators are currently interviewing subjects related to the threat, police said.
"Earlier today, we received a report from a parent regarding messages of a school threa, Principal Dr. Abir Othman said in a message to parents. "The Tinley Park Police Department in partnership with our Dean’s Office immediately investigated the rumor and concluded it was without merit. As a supportive measure, the Tinley Park Police Department has afforded us more officers on campus today."

Numerous school districts and police departments in the Chicago suburbs have reported social media threats that authorities have said were unfounded. Othman applauded the parent for reporting the threat.
"We are proud of our parent who came forward with this information, as it allowed us to include TPPD immediately," Othman wrote. "I ask that you talk with your Andrew student/s to remind them to report anything they see or hear out of the ordinary to the Dean’s Office. Remember, we are a 'See something, Say something' school. We reinforce that message with students regularly and ask you to do the same."
