Tinley Park-Park District Board Swears In Commissioners, Shuffles Leadership

TINLEY PARK, IL — The Tinley Park-Park District Board of Commissioners last week shuffled its leadership positions, seating a new president and vice president.

Commissioners Lisa Butler, Lisa O'Donovan and Marie Ryan were also sworn in during the May 21 meeting. All three won their seats in the April 1 consolidated election, with O'Donovan and Ryan winning re-election.

Following the swearing-in ceremony, the board appointed Commissioner Lisa O’Donovan as Board President, Commissioner Bernie O’Boyle as Vice President, Commissioner Marie Ryan as Treasurer, Commissioner Ashley Rubino as Secretary, and Commissioner Lisa Butler as Alternate.

Board policy dictates that the board elects a president and vice-president from their members at the designated annual meeting. In the board's publicized meeting schedule, May 21, 2025, is noted as the annual meeting.

The term is to last one year, or until successors are elected, and is effective immediately following their election at the annual meeting, according to board policy.

Also during the meeting, the board honored outgoing commissioner Don Cuba for his years of service to the Park District and Tinley Park community.

“All of us at the Park District extend our deep appreciation to Commissioner Don Cuba for his tenure on the Park Board,” the board said. “We thank Commissioner Cuba for his hard work and years of service to our community.”
