Tax Fraud

A local woman went to the to report that when she went to file her taxes on April 8, she was told someone already filed taxes using her Social Security number. She notified the Social Security Administration. The case is among several in the past couple of weeks, police said.

Planter Stolen

said a woman reported around 9:30 a.m. that someone stole a 5 foot tall, $100 planter from a holder in her backyard. The planter was arched at the top and had several shelves for holding plants.

MONDAY, APRIL 9

Pellet Gun Busts Through Window

A resident of a home in the 6400 block of West 164th Place in said that around 7:40 p.m., someone shot what appeared to be a BB through a front window of his home. The first layer of glass was penetrated but the second layer was not, according to the report.

Possession of a Controlled Substance

Matthew J. Offord, 29, of the 5400 bock of West 129th Place in Crestwood, was arrested around 1:50 p.m. near the intersection of Harlem Avenue and 186th Street in . He was charged with driving with a suspended license and possession of a controlled substance. Police said they arrested Offord following a fender-bender accident near that intersection.
