Pet enthusiasts can shop artisan goods at the brewery, 8201 183rd St Suite P, Tinley Park, with all vendors stationed outside to create a pet-friendly environment.

Set for 12 to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 18, the market will feature more than two dozen artists and craftspeople.

"This year we have all artists outdoor and a beer station outside where patrons can order beer and food," said John Streetz, head of the Streetz Artz Alliance and curator for this event. "This change was driven from strong feedback after last year's market. We strive to always improve on the shows we do and are thankful the brewery was able to set this up."

Attendees can expect an array of pet-focused products, including stylish bandanas, creative toys, doggie ice cream, and tasty treats for furry friends. For humans, there will be a variety of offerings such as pickles, cookies, crocheted animals, jewelry, boozy ice cream, apparel, and original art pieces.

"We're not just a market for pets; we're a market for pet lovers," Streetz emphasized. "We have something for everyone, whether you're here to spoil your pet or find a unique gift for yourself or a fellow animal enthusiast."

In addition to shopping, attendees can enjoy tarot readings.

"Ten Cups Tarot will be offering three card pulls for pets for $5," said Teagan Hofmann, owner of Ten Cups Tarot. "What has your pet been trying to tell you? Let's find out together!"

Food and beverage options will be available from the brewery and are expected to be normal items during the market.

"Tacos, burritos, tortas, nachos, elote, chips and salsa/guacamole will be available!" said Becca Scamardo, social media/marketing manager at Soundgrowler Brewing. In addition, the outdoor beer station will have Tortilla Hands and Orange Haze on tap with can pours of Pride of Petravore, Mercury's Philter, The Willing Blood, Hallowed Fountain, and Blood Crypt. For any of the other beers on tap, they can be ordered at the inside bar.

The Pet Market is free to attend, and pets are welcome on the outdoor patio. Attendees are encouraged to invite friends, share the event, and plan to join the festivities. While there will not be any artists inside the brewery, there will be additional seating and restrooms available to patrons of the event.

"The markets at Soundgrowler are always so much fun! I love shopping at them, and I'm excited for the opportunity to be a part of one," said Amanda Daly with The Barketplace. "Pets are my world, and getting to be a piece of an event celebrating them and the people that love them is really at the core of The Barketplace and what we love to do."

"Soundgrowler is one of my favorite breweries to frequent and sell at. The people are incredible and the food and drinks are amazing, which is the best combo. I have four pets, so the theme of this market warms my heart, and I can't wait to participate!" said Libby McArthur of Libby McArthur Art.

Creator Michael Kowalczyk, of Special K's BeerCandles, will give a portion of proceeds back to a cause close to his heart.

"For this event, Special K's BeerCandles will have pet-themed beercandles and will donate a portion of the proceeds to Dark Horse Dogs," Kowalczyk said. "Special K's BeerCandles adopted Rambo from Dark Horse Dogs in late 2023, and he has really enjoyed helping with the family business."

The event is organized by the Streetz Artz Alliance. The alliance is a group of 350 artists and crafters from across the Chicago suburbs, NW Indiana and southern Wisconsin who participate in markets all over the area. The group is dedicated to promoting local artists and fostering community engagement through art-centric events.
