Phony Public Works Employees Visiting Tinley Park Homes: Cops

Police have received 2 reports of people pretending to be village workers.

TINLEY PARK, IL — Police are warning residents about people visiting homes and impersonating village employees. So far, there have been two reported cases of individuals posing as workers from the Tinley Park Public Works Department, according to the village.

Residents are reminded that village employees will not arrive at homes without an appointment. Employees also will proper ID when making visits, the village said.

A list of approved water meter technicians serving Tinley Park can be found on the village's website. Anyone visited by a phony village employee should contact Tinley Park police.
