Police Blotter: A Stone's Throw, Narcotics at La Quinta and a Recovered Stolen Car

THURSDAY, SEPT. 8

A Stone's Throw

A woman living in the 5900 block of Lake Bluff Drive in called the cops around 11:30 p.m. when she said she heard something hit her bedroom window. Though no one was in the area when police got there, they found a rock in between the window's two panes of glass, according to the report. Both panes had been broken.

Narcotics at La Quinta

Police were called around 7 p.m. to La Quinta Inn, 7255 183rd St., Tinley Park, to help with an investigation led by Will County, according to a police report. Three males and one female were detained in the hallway on the hotel's third floor, police said. Two juveniles from the bunch were released to their parents. But Alexander C. Garcia, 19, no address given, and Jessica R. Siemsen, 18, no address given, were each charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. No additional details were available at 3:35 p.m. Friday.

Stolen Car Recovered

While police were patrolling the Metra 80th Avenue parking lot, 18001 80th Ave., around 2:45 p.m., they approached a car in a parking space that was listed as failing to pay daily commuter fees. The officer ran the license plate through his system and discovered that it was stolen. He confirmed the information through the Chicago Police Department, where the report was originally made, towed the car to the impound yard and contacted the owner. The owner told police he hopes to pick up the car by the end of the month but noted he no longer had keys for it.

Failure to Appear

Nick A. Fantasia, 28, of the first block of West 26th Street in Chicago Heights, was arrested around 5:20 a.m. at the Chicago Heights Police Department on a failure-to-appear warrant out of Tinley Park. His bail was set at $5,000.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 3

Cash and Card Missing

A couple living in the 8500 block of Scheer Drive in Tinley Park returned home from a trip last week to find $800 in cash and their debit card missing.

The pair and their child were out of town from Aug. 24 to Sept. 3, the report said. When they got back, they retrieved several voice mails left be employees from the bank, saying that someone was trying to withdraw money from an ATM using their debit card. They also found that a hidden jewelry box containing $800 in cash had vanished.

The two said a house sitter was at the home during the time they were gone. The case remained under investigation Friday.

MONDAY, AUG. 22

And Around They Go

Wesley R. Buechele, 25, of the 7700 block of 166th Street in Tinley Park, was charged with DUI and improper turn. Police said they began tailing Buechele’s car around 4 a.m. after it made an abrupt lane change and turn from 153rd Street onto West Avenue. Police stopped the car in the 15300 block of Huntington Court a few minutes later, after it made two successive right hand turns, heading back to the area it had came, according to the report. Buechele’s eyes were described as “blood shot and glassy” and police said he slurred his words. He failed field sobriety tests, police said.
