High School Calls on Cops to Help Find Stolen iPad
Police were called to Tinley Park High School, 6111 175th St., for a report of a stolen iPad. A teacher at the school said someone stole the black 16GB iPad sometime between Sept. 20 and Oct. 20. It was sitting in her desk, according to the report. School officials did their own investigation by using the device's built-in GPS function. It led them to the vicinity of Manchester Street, Sussix Road and Winston Drive, the report said. The IT department remotely "wiped" the iPad 2, locked it and set off an audible three-day alarm. School officials contacted all registered TPHS families living in that area, the report said. The families were told there would be no repercussions for theft if the device was returned. As of Friday, it had not been. It was valued at $500.

Warrant Arrest
Jnaiya M. Ermon, 37, of the 17900 block of Iroquois Trace in , was arrested around 8:30 p.m. at her home on two warrants out of Cook County. Her bail was set at a combined $7,000, the report said.
Mailbox Smashed Using Pumpkin
A man living in the 6600 block of 181st Street in Tinley Park called police to report that sometime between 10 p.m. Oct. 18 and 6 a.m. Oct. 19, someone smashed his mailbox using a pumpkin. The man suspects that a former friend of his son may be responsible.

Grand Theft Auto? No, Repo man.
A woman living on Nottingham Road called police to report that between 6:30 p.m. Oct. 17 and 5:40 a.m. Oct. 18, her 2004 GMC Envoy was stolen from her garage. Police began investigating the matter and entered the vehicle into their stolen car database. The woman called back a day later and told them she'd found the vehicle. It had been repossessed, according to the police report.
Unauthorized Transactions
A local woman called the cops when she noticed two unauthorized transactions had been made using her debit card. She said a $313.97 purchase was made at Target on Oct. 18 and a $124.70 purchase was made at Barnes & Noble on Oct. 17. The woman still had the card in her possession. The case remained under investigation Friday.

Personal Info Used for Amazon Account
After noticing that four transactions totaling $62.85 had been made using her debit card, a local woman called police. An additional $7.98 in fees had been charged to the account. Police determined that an Amazon account had been opened using the woman's debit card information.

Vodka Thief Takes a Bathroom Break
Police said a man wearing a grey, hooded sweatshirt entered Super Kmart, 16300 S. Harlem Ave., around 5:20 p.m. and stole a $17.99 bottle of vodka. He hid the bottle under his shirt, the report said, and entered the bathroom, where he remained for about five minutes. He then left the store and got into a 1984 Chrysler being driven by a woman.
