Man Grabs Cigs and Bolts
A clerk at Shell gas station, 17101 S. Harlem Ave., , said that around 3:30 a.m., a customer stole eight packs of cigarettes while her back was turned. The man asked for four packs of Marlboro and four packs of Newport cigs, a total value of $58.48, according to the report.
The clerk set them on the counter and went to move a box on the floor. " … When she turned back to face the subject, he had taken the cigarettes and was running out the front door of the business," the report said.

Diners Ditch at Outriggers
said a 25-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man left abruptly from Outriggers and didn't pay their $112.27 tab. The two were eating at the restaurant, 15917 Harlem Ave., Tinley Park, around 11:20 p.m., a waiter said, in the report. The "highly intoxicated" man was causing a scene and the woman was trying to calm him down, according to the report.
The two left and the woman forgot her purse. Wait staff turned the bag over to police, who were able to recover two IDs from inside that revealed that the duo was from Hammond, Ind. Police were trying to track the two down during the weekend but the report filed Sept. 15 didn't specify that any formal charges had been filed.
