Man In Mental Health Crisis Found Safe: Tinley Police
The man called 911 and reported that he was in mental distress. Police from several agencies were searching for him in a forest preserve.
TINLEY PARK, IL — A man who called 911 reporting that he was experiencing a mental health crisis in a Cook County forest preserve was found safe late Monday night, Tinley Park police said.
Police and fire from multiple agencies were on scene at Cook County Forest Preserve land Monday evening, searching for the 45-year-old man reportedly in distress. Tinley Park police and fire, Cook County Forest Preserve, Cook County Sheriff's and Oak Forest police were searching forest preserve land from 159th and Oak Park Avenue to Central Avenue.
The man had reportedly called 911 at 5:21 p.m., saying that he was experiencing a mental health crisis. Police arrived at the scene by 5:30 p.m., said Forest Preserves of Cook County Director of Communications Carl Vogel. The search originated in Bremen Grove, and was later expanded; it was ongoing as of 7:45 p.m. Drones were also used in the search.

Tinley Park police shared just before 9 p.m. that the man had been found safe.
