Rental Car Stolen from Virginia Man Taking a Trip

Police searched where the 2013 Hyundai was parked in a Hilton lot but did not find any evidence left behind.

A car rented by a 33-year-old man visiting from Richmond, Virginia, was stolen from a hotel parking lot, according to police.

The victim told police the theft took place sometime between 12:30 a.m. and 10:17 a.m. on June 9, according to a report. He left the car parked in the west parking lot of the Hilton Garden Inn, 18335 LaGrange Road.

Police searched the spot where the 2013 Hyundai 4-door car had been and could not find any broken glass or other evidence, according to the report.

The Virginia man said the car was locked when he parked it for the night, according to the report.

No video surveillance was available, the report states.

The company, National Car Rental, was called, according to the report. The renter gave a license plate for the vehicle that was not correct. The investigating officer was eventually able to get the correct plate number.

No arrests were reported.
