Resident Burned, Firefighter Injured In Fire At Tinley Park Townhouse

Crews were called early Monday morning to a fire at a townhouse in Odyssey subdivision.

TINLEY PARK, IL — A resident suffered burns and a firefighter was injured in a fall during a fire Monday morning in Odyssey subdivision, Tinley Park Fire Chief Steve Klotz said.

Crews were called around 6:30 a.m. Monday to the townhouse in the 0-100 block of Odyssey Drive, for fire coming out of a first-floor window. The call was upgraded to a box alarm, calling in additional crews to assist.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to one of the townhouse units, Klotz said. The fire was extinguished within 20 minutes. A male occupant was taken to a nearby hospital with burns; a firefighter was also injured at the scene.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
