School District 146 Recognized For Financial Excellence

School District 146 has been honored for its financial excellence for the 23rd year in a row.

TINLEY PARK, IL — School District 146 has been recognized by the Association of School Business Officials International with the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting. It marks the or the 23rd consecutive year the district has been given the distinction.

Auditors with ASBO International, a nonprofit organization, review a district’s comprehensive annual financial report, and if they meet stringent requirements, districts are eligible for the Certificate of Excellence.

“The Certificate of Excellence’s mission is to promote and recognize excellence in financial reporting,” said ASBO International Director of Recognition Programs Molly Barrie in a statement. “The report informs parents and other stakeholders about the financial and economic state of the district, making it an important tool for building trust and engaging with the school community.”

ASBO International represents 30,000 school business professionals worldwide and provides programs, services and a network of professionals that promote the highest standards in school business.

Community Consolidated School District 146 is composed of Central Middle School, Fierke Education Center, Fulton School, Kruse Education Center, and Memorial School. Students from Tinley Park, Orland Park, and Oak Forest attend District 146 schools.
