Shirtless Teen Leaves Stolen Truck, Evidence Behind

A young male drove away with a Tinley Park man's Dodge Ram, then fled on foot after the man and police gave chase.

A shirtless teenager drove away with a man’s truck parked on the 8900 block of West Glenshire Street in over the weekend, then abandoned it and fled on foot after being pursued by the truck's owner and , according to a police report.

A 45-year-old man called the cops to report the theft of his vehicle around 12:30 a.m. Sept. 5. He said his daughter had just seen someone drive away in his 2008 Dodge Ram, which was unlocked with the keys in the ignition, the report said.

When he got word of the incident, the Ram owner got in another car and began pursuing the thief, who witnesses said was between 17 and 19 years old. The man followed the thief to the 8100 block of Evergreen Lane in Frankfort Square and then called Tinley Park police, according to the report.

When the cops got there, the thief ran from the area. He left in his wake a single black-and-white DVS gym shoe and a black Philips MP3 player, police said.

He was described as white, about 5-foot-6 and wearing a white baseball hat, blue jeans and no shirt. The truck was returned to the victim around 2:30 a.m.
