Student Of The Week: 8th Grade Honors Student And Violin Player

Alexander Maliwat has been playing violin since he was 5-years-old and is a member of the National Junior Honors Society.

TINLEY PARK, IL — Students of all ages undergo stress, pressure and growth during their academic careers. Patch wants to highlight students in you community that have shown strength and courage during stressful learning situations amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

This week, we are highlighting Alexander Maliwat, and 8th grader from Prairie View Middle School.

Maliwat is an honors student and NJHS member. He is also involved in cross-country, student council, mathletes and friendship club, and he has been part of the math bowl since 3rd grade.

Maliwat is currently taking math two, a sophomore-level math course at Andrew High School. The middle schooler has also been playing violin since he was 5-years-old and is a black belt in Taekwondo.
