TINLEY PARK, IL — Students of all ages undergo stress, pressure and growth during their academic careers. Patch wants to highlight students in your community that have shown strength and courage during stressful learning situations amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

This week, Patch is recognizing the hard work and dedication of Nick Quinn, a student at Cardinal Joseph Bernardin Catholic School.

According to the staff, Quinn is the "quintessential" student. "His attitudes and demeanor reflect his deep faith. He is thoughtful, kind, gracious, and cheerful in and outside the classroom. Nick is also an excellent honor roll student. He works hard every day and strives for excellence in all he does," the school said.

Quinn is a 12-year-old student who hopes to attend Benet Academy or Lockport High School.

"I am a member of the cross-country team, port ministry lunch volunteer, member of computer club, and a member of 'Frozen Jr,' the school play," Quinn said. "Outside of school, I'm a member of the Flyers Cross Country team, I love to FaceTime with my friends, dance, ride my bike and skateboard and play with my dog. I'm also learning how to play the piano."

Quinn said he loves being at school and prefers it over e-learning.

"Being at school is a great thing because compared to school last spring, it’s great to have a normal day and to be able to see my friends and teachers," Quinn said. "At first, I was jealous my brothers didn’t have in-person to school, but now I think they are jealous that I get to learn in person with the great teachers at CJB."

Way to go Nick!
