13 Suburban Chicago Students Make Wesleyan University Dean's List

They were among 831 students from 29 states and 16 countries to be recognized by the school for their academic achievements.

TINLEY PARK, IL— Thirteen local students earned a spot on Illinois Wesleyan University's Dean's List, the school announced Wednesday. They include five from Tinley Park, four from Orland Park, three from Homewood-Flossmoor and one from Country Club Hills. The dozen or so undergraduates were among 831 students from 29 states and 16 countries to be recognized by the school for their academic achievements.

Tinley Park:

  • Jake Arthur, junior finance major
  • Matt Crosse, sophomore biology major
  • Lauren Johnson, first year biology major
  • Kyle Ostrowski, senior marketing major
  • Rebecca Rochacz, junior nursing major.

Country Club Hills:

  • Emily Joos, sophomore accounting major

Orland Park:

  • Mark Fassler, first year chemistry major
  • Evy Makris, first year art and psychology major
  • Dave O'Neil, junior business and administration and economics major
  • Emilija Stankute, sophomore nursing major.

Homewood-Flossmoor:

  • Bernie Coderre, senior accounting major
  • Madison Garofalo, first year political science major
  • Julius Smith, junior marketing major also made the list.

Illinois Wesleyan University, a highly selective Liberal Arts university, has approximately 1,700 undergraduates enrolled from around the world. The University credits itself for "producing graduates who are well-rounded, broadly educated individuals with a spirit of inquiry who can successfully adapt to the demands of a rapidly changing, complex world," according to a press release. To make the Dean's List, students must maintain a GPA of 3.50 or above.
